Weathered Wood

PLEASE NOTE: i-shot has evolved! This is the old version of my photoblog - it now lives over at myglasseye.net. Thank you for visiting me at i-shot, but please bookmark the new site and let me know what you think! Many thanks, Owen...

The whole of Venice is slowly but inexorably decaying, due to salt in the air, the constant rise and fall of water, the acidic droppings of those damn pigeons, and subtle shifts in the foundations on which it's built, but it makes for striking images up close. I'd have taken a LOT more photos purely of rusting hinges, rotting wooden doors and crumbling pillars but I was too busy enjoying wandering, gazing and getting lost to keep pulling out my camera. I want to go back! :)
