We went up to Box Hill in Surrey today, and dozens of other Londoners had exactly the same idea! Can't blame them; it was so sunny that staying in stinky London when there's such wonderful fresh air and views at Box Hill would have been insane.

Turns out that the views, while wonderfully wide to the naked eye, don't photograph so amazingly, especially with loads of people milling around on the hillside. I like this one because it manages to convey the sense of distance and scale of the view. The composition isn't perfect (the girl and her dad would be further inside the frame ideally) because I shot this with the IR filter on, and so was shooting blind, reviewing and recomposing. After this shot they moved.

I think the swirly object in the air is a kite as there were a few out that day, but I don't know for sure...
